The UAM STEM Center serves to improve Mathematics and Science Education in the Southeast Arkansas area through implementation of programs which enhance the math and science knowledge of our students and teachers. We support the objectives of our national, state and local math and science organizations which include: NCTM, NSTA, ACTM, ASTA, SEACTM, and SEASTA.

Our Goals:
• Help teachers teach to the Arkansas Mathematics and Science Standards
• Improve math & science instruction in grades K – 16 • Effectively integrate engineering and technology experiences into instruction • Promote inquiry-based and project-based instruction • Integrate math and science across the curriculum • Provide innovative strategies for recruiting students into STEM careers • Partner with UAM to provide content and pedagogy to pre-service and in-service teachers • Provide resources to schools and classroom teachers |
